New York State of Mind

I spent a few days this week in NYC on a short business trip. After landing, I was picked up in a big black escalade by a Russian man. After being briefly frightened that I was being kidnapped, we talked about the New York Rangers. Thank you Jared for educating me on hockey, we had a nice banter going.

It was cool and foggy in New York. I stayed at the Flatiron Toshi Hotel, across from the Flat Iron Building.
It had such a weird blend of tacky and posh. These awesome plush victorian chairs coupled with wierd Las Vegas style fish tank stairs. The room was incredible, floor to ceiling windows all around and high tray ceilings.

Since I was only there for a few hours that evening, my mission was to go to Shake Shack. There were probably 80 people in line in front of me! I ended up at Hill Church Chicken which was absolutely delicious.

I leave you with this amazing mini banana cream pie. You can take the girl out of the south but you can't take the south out of the girl.
